Scope and Content Note
These are small notebooks recording daily activities at the institution.
They include records of routine inspections at various posts; items going into and out of the laundry; orders given by officers; issuances of items such as shoes; visitors; behavior of inmates in segregation (separate, tighter-security confinement); and infractions by and action taken against inmates. The books usually give the date; name of inmate; type of inspection, action, infraction, etc.; and the name of officer or other person involved.
