Scope and Content Note

Correspondence, memoranda, and printed forms comprise the office files of the Warden.

File subjects include: accidents (Employer's Report of Injury submitted to the State Insurance Fund, giving name of employer and injured person, description of accident, employment, nature of injury, whether fatal, cause of accident or disease); aliens (including lists of aliens in the prison); arms and ammunition; amusements (including programs from amateur theatricals and field days); Champlain College (post-World War II special state college); chaplains; commissary; contraband; duty chart (this file includes blueprint of steam service lines at prison); fires (including inspection and prevention); grievance procedures; insurance; lands owned by Clinton Prison; and medical reports (monthly statistics from the hospital and clinics, ca. 1937-1950). The remainder of the files are not extant.
