Scope and Content Note
Financial statements, bills, receipts, memoranda, and a few telegrams concerning the allocation and expenditure of State Museum funds. Most expenditures relate to geological and paleontological research conducted by Museum scientists.
Specific projects included in those records are: New York State's exhibit at the World's Columbian Exposition (1893); preparation of the Economic and Geological Map of the State of New York (1894); preparation of the final volumes of the Paleontology of New York (1847-1894); scientific investigation of the Livonia Salt Shaft (1891-1894); Acquisition and specifications for Museum exhibit cases; and preparation of Museum Memoir 2, Palaeozoic Reticulate Sponges, Constituting the Family Dictyospongidae (1898).
