Scope and Content Note
This series contains information on gages used to monitor water flow on canals throughout New York. Included is location of gage (e.g. bridge 126, Albion, East of Sandy Creek); date gage was installed; drainage area in square miles; date of reading and by whom taken; chain length; and type of box and gage. Sketch maps that depict gage placement and nearby buildings, landmarks, and other structures are frequently included.
