Summary:

This series consists of summary reports of sales of state lands by the State Engineer and Surveyor and its successors, including the Department of Public Works and the Division of the Land Office, as well as a few by the Conservation Department. Reports from state agencies making land sales were useful in assessing taxes on new property owners. Each report includes the name of purchaser, address, a detailed description of the property, and price paid.

Scope and Content Note

These volumes contain a summary record of sales of state lands by the State Engineer and Surveyor (to 1926), Department of Public Works (1926-1928), and Department of State, Division of the Land Office (1928-1939). There are also a few reports from the Conservation Department. Reports from state agencies making land sales were useful in assessing taxes on new property owners.

Each sale is reported on a sheet of paper posted into a book. The report states the name of purchaser, address, a detailed description of the property, and price paid.

B0969-99: This accretion documents approximately 160 sales of state lands by the State Engineer and Surveyor. Reports are numbered from 1092 to 1352. They date from 1918 to 1927.
