Scope and Content Note
B1061-01: This accretion includes approximately 500 original drawings of graptolites, as well as other fossils including phyllocarids, arthropods, eurypterids, machaeridia, Hyolithes, Protoscolex, Lingula, and other brachiopods. Rudolf Ruedemann, State Paleontologist from 1926 to 1937 prepared the drawings, many of which subsequently appeared in State Museum and other scientific publications. The author of over 160 scholarly articles, Ruedemann was widely regarded as America's foremost authority on graptolites, as well as a valuable resource in the fields of paleontology and geology generally.
Custodial History
B1061-01: This accretion was transferred to the State Archives from the New York State Geological Survey in November 1994 and accessioned in April 2001.
