Scope and Content Note

The series consists of a company/regimental orderly book for the 2nd Regiment New York State Artillery, which was stationed in New York City during the War of 1812. It shows the day by day activities of the organization.

The volume was used as a scrapbook by a subsequent owner (unknown) and the original contents were pasted over with newsprint articles dating from the 1830s. Remnants of these articles were retained with the series after conservation work to restore the original manuscript entries.
