Scope and Content Note

This series consists of a report generated for the Office of the State Comptroller in 1900 giving an inventory of the property that belongs to the State of New York and of which the Commissioners of Quarantine are custodians. The inventory list includes the Office of the Commissioners of Quarantine, Swinburne Island, Hoffman Island, and the Steam Propeller "State of New York." The inventory lists the objects of value, such as rungs, desks, china, and glassware, contained in those buildings owned by the State on the aforementioned islands.

Custodial History

These records were most likely transferred to the State Archives by the New York State Library in 1978 but somehow became estrayed and were never accessioned. They were discovered in July 2007 as part of the eleventh floor renovation project.
