Scope and Content Note
This series consists of memoranda, reports, and press releases concerning the Traffic Safety Policy Coordination Committee under the chairmanship of Jonathan B. Bingham (until June 1958) and then Daniel P. Moynihan as the acting chairman. The committee was appointed by Governor Harriman in May 1957 to advise him on traffic safety policy matters, and to assist in coordinating the work of the State agencies concerned with various aspects of the problem. Also included are lists of members, agenda and minutes of the monthly meetings; memoranda; as well as recommendations and committee reports on the New York State system for the suspension or revocation of drivers' licenses for violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Custodial History
This series was a gift to Syracuse University from Governor Harriman in 1959. It was transferred to the New York State Archives in 2006 and accessioned in January 2008.
