Scope and Content Note

These bulletins or memorandums were issued by the State Athletic Commission to convey detailed rules and regulations including requirements for distribution of tickets; requirements, appointments, and exact duties of managers, referees, judges, timekeepers, announcers, and physicians; uses of assumed names in billing and advertising; compliance to weight limits; procedures for marking official score cards; standards for rings and equipment; contracts; costumes; eligibility and licensing of boxers, wrestlers, and officials; inspections of clubs and facilities; examination of participants before and after bouts; payment of participants and officials; and other rules and regulations covering all aspects of boxing and wrestling.

The bulletins also include a variety of routine information such as regular schedules of bouts for clubs and notices of meetings which required the attendance of club owners, physicians, or other groups of officials.
