Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. Researchers should note that these sites were not captured in 2014 or 2015.

B2146-07: This accretion consists of a copy of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority site produced on May 4, 2007, shortly after Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It includes press releases (2001-2007), annual reports (2003-2006), an annual budget (FY 2007-08), and a listing of the authority's board of directors. It also contains employment, organizational, and other information concerning the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Transit Police; and route maps, fare and pass information, and other information concerning commuter rail and bus services operated by the authority. Also included are an overview of the authority's role in redeveloping the City of Buffalo's Outer Harbor and an environmental assessment (2006) and other materials relating to a proposed project to help revitalize downtown Buffalo by re-opening the city's Main Street to vehicular traffic and improving multi-modal transit access to the area.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, the appearance of this copy differs substantially from that of the live site.

B2146-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority site produced on August 22, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It includes additional press releases (2001-2008), annual reports (2005-2008), and annual budgets (2007-08 and 2008-09). It also contains updated information about the commuter rail and bus services operated by the authority.

B2146-11: This accretion consists of a copy of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority site produced on April 15, 2011, after Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. It contains the authority's 2010 goals, bylaws (2010), newer press releases (2009-2011), an operating and capital plan (2012-2016), and annual financial reports (2008-2012). It also includes updated information concerning the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Transit Police and the commuter rail and bus services operated by the authority. Information about City of Buffalo Main Street multi-modal access and revitalization project with an environment assessment (2009) and a photo gallery of the Greenway Nature Trail, which is part of the Outer Harbor Development, are also present.

B2146-20: This accretion consists of a copy of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Website produced on March 24, 2020, during the third term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011-2021). It contains information about the authority's mission and leadership and policies, procedures, and bylaws governing the authority's operations. Also included are newer annual reports (2012-2019), audit reports (2016-2019), and investment audits and reports (2016-2019). Information about the authority's response to the COVID-19 pandemic is also present.

This accretion also contains copies of three other sites maintained by the authority. The NFTA-Metro Bus and Rail site (copied March 24, 2020) contains information about schedules and fares; COVID-19 precautions; and services for students, people with disabilities, and other visitors and residents. Also included is the authority's Public Participation Plan (2018) and information about its Citizen Advisory Committee. The Buffalo Niagara Airport site (copied March 24, 2020) and the Niagara Falls International Airport site (copied March 24, 2020) contain terminal maps; information about the history of the airports, parking, services, amenities, and COVID-19 precautions; and information of particular interest to individuals traveling to or from Canada.
