Administrative History

Senator Joseph A. Griffo, a Republican, was first elected to the Senate in 2006 after serving as Oneida County executive (2003-2006) and mayor of the City of Rome (1992-2003). He represents the 47th Senate District, which consists of Lewis County and part of Oneida County and St. Lawrence County.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of an archival copy of the official website of Senator Joseph A. Griffo produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information; press releases (2008); photographs; and information about a Senate Republican Upstate Now economic development plan for upstate New York, water supply issues affecting the Hinckley Reservoir, and other matters of interest to Senator Griffo's constituents. A district map is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set.

Researchers should also note that in 2009, each senator was allotted space on the main Senate Web site and the official sites of individual senators were removed from the live Web.
