Administrative History

Senator Raymond A. Meier, a Republican, was elected to the Senate in 1996 after serving as Oneida County Executive (1991-1996). He represented the 47th Senate District, which consists of most of Oneida County and eastern St. Lawrence County. He co-chaired the bipartisan Task Force on Medicaid Reform (2003) and chaired the Standing Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs (1997-1999) and the Standing Committee on Social Services and Children and Families (2005-2006).

This series consists of an archival copy of the official website of Raymond A. Meier produced on December 21, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information, photographs, and a district map. Press releases (2000-2006) concerning state funding for local projects and programs, child welfare legislation, reform of the state Medicaid program, and other matters of interest to Senator Meier's constituents are also included.
