Scope and Content Note
This series documents land acquisition overseen by the department as authorized by Article XIV of the State Constitution. Records consist of deeds, maps, estimates, bids, appraisals, reports, vouchers, agreements, contracts, authorizations, title abstracts, correspondence, and memorandums.
This accretion contains title files and records of Wildlife Management Areas. These lands have been acquired primarily for the purpose of aiding wildlife reproduction and survival. They also provide opportunities for wildlife-related recreation such as hunting, trapping, fishing, bird watching, and wildlife photography. This accretion contains records of Wildlife Management Areas from Delaware County, Albany County, Madison County, Alleghany and Livingston Counties, Yates and Ontario Counties, Chautauqua County, Tompkins and Schuyler Counties, and Oswego County.
