The records in this series relate to all aspects of Communications and Press Office operations. Included are correspondence
and memoranda to and from the director and press secretary, and working papers on specific subjects.
Communications Office files from Governor Hugh L. Carey's administration include event scripts, papers, and program booklets
for the 1981 Harvest of Music festival, scripts and correspondence relating to the "Energy Beat" series produced by the governor's
office, files pertaining to the publication of Carey's public papers, news clippings of the governor's marriage to Evangeline
Goutelas, correspondence about the Audio Information Service that used electronic media to supplement press releases, and
papers and programs relating to "The Carey Years" farewell event. Files from Governor Mario M. Cuomo's administration include
State of the State scripts and TV papers, photographs from the 1985 State Fair, and research files for a proposed state government
video/audio/photo archives project.
Acquisition Information
These records were transferred to the State Archives by William F. Snyder, former Director of Communications to the Governor.
