Scope and Content Note

These volumes contain comprehensive, summary information of every student that received a Regents diploma for the period of 1911 to 1959. Public and non-public high schools submitted information on an annual basis to the State Education Department (SED) regarding students who graduated with "Regents" or college entrance diplomas. Information includes student name, type of diploma conferred (e.g. honors, business, vocational, music, etc.), and diploma number. The earlier volumes contain handwritten entries, presumably written by SED staff; the later volumes consist of both handwritten and typed forms, completed by schools, which were submitted to and bound by SED.
