This series consists of docket books related to motions filed in the New York State Court of Appeals. The entries in these volumes include the number of copies and date motion papers were received; names of appellants and respondents; department; return dates and adjournments; names of attorneys; docket numbers; date of decision; and disposition of the motion. The disposition often indicates whether the motion was accepted or dismissed and a brief explanation describing the court's reasoning.
