This series contains records spanning the entire Senate career of Earl W. Brydges reflecting his legislative activities of participating on Senate committees, representing his constituency, and initiating or taking action on legislation. Approximately one-half of the material consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence between Brydges and other legislors, state agency officials, local government officials, educators and other professionals, citizen groups, and individual constituents.

The series also includes memoranda, copies of speeches, press releases, and pamphlets, reports, clippings and other printed items. Most of the material reflects Brydges' assignments on various committees and his interests in the areas of education (especially education of the handicapped), health, and mental retardation.

There is a significant amount of material on local issues in Niagara County and City of Niagara Falls, particularly in the areas of transportation, education, and production of electrical power for the region. There is also approximately one cubic foot of material relating to Brydges' work in the 1967 Constitutional Convention, consisting largely of correspondence pertaining to individual issues being considered by the Convention.

L0104-96: Correspondence in this accretion consists of letters and memos from constituents and other state and local government officials, frequently with carbons of replies by Senator Brydges' office attached.
