Scope and Content Note
This series consists of press releases from offices of state legislators in the senate and assembly, the executive chamber governors Rockefeller and Lindsay, and various state agencies. Also included are transcripts of speeches; supplemental state budgets for 1962 and 1966; lists of legislative correspondents; and broadcast transcripts for the television program "Legislative Hearing" (1965-1966). A wide variety of subjects are covered in the series, notably: commerce; workman's compensation; milk pricing; tax laws and reform; bond issues; civil rights; and Republican Party politics.
L0213-13: This accretion consists of press releases from offices of state legislators in the senate and assembly, New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia, various state agencies, state committees, and private organizations such as the New York State Nurses Association, the New York State Federation of Teachers Union, and the Association of Towns in 1939. It also contains a small number of weekly legislative newsletters. Subjects for press releases include law revision, labor issues, taxes, employment, and education.

Custodial History
L0213-96: These records appear to have been created by the Office of the Senate Majority Leader during the leaderships of Walter J. Mahoney (1954-1965) and Earl W. Brydges (1966-1972). The records were stored in the State Library in the Education Building and were transferred to the State Archives at the request of the Senate Microfilm and Records Office due to pending renovation of the building.
