Translation
Order granting Govert Loockermans a lot of ground upon certain conditions
The above request having been received at the session was acted upon, after due deliberation, [ ] The ground, which the petitioner has sheathed with the foreknowledge and consent of the director general and councilors, across the public highway, is hereby conveyed to him in ownership upon the condition that the director general and councilors reserve for the common good (whenever necessity demands such) at the appropriate time to be able to lay or have laid on the side of the sheathing a wall or bulwark for increased security of this city. Thus done, conveyed, and granted at the session of the honorable lords director general and councilors of New Netherland held in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland the 21st of December anno 1656.
