Answer to petition about the disposition of the church lots in Midwout

The foregoing petition having been received and read, it is resolved as follows: Concerning the first two points concerning the two lots, the petitioners are allowed to use these for the purpose as proposed and planned by the petitioners, and no other.[i]

The director general and councilors agree that the two remaining lots or 50 morgens shall be used for the benefit of the parsonage, in order to maintain the present and future church servants as far as possible. The director general and councilors are of the opinion that the deficiency must be made up by the inhabitants according to their former promises and subscriptions and continue so until ] the tithes are due, when further orders ] concerning the support of the minister shall be given ]. Thus done in Fort Amsterdam in N: Netherland the 29th of January anno 1658.
