Appointment of Richard Bridnell to be deputy collector of excise at Heemstede

Whereas the director general and councilors of N: Netherland publicly farmed out the tappers’ excise of Long Island to Jan Montagne, which Montagne assigned to Richard Bridnel as his collector for the village of Heemstede; therefore, the director general and councilors of N: Netherland hereby notify and warn all tappers dwelling in the aforesaid village that they shall neither tap nor peddle any beers, wines, or distilled spirits before they have paid and satisfied the usual tappers’ excise to Richard Bridnel, on pain of what heretofore was stated in the edicts. Dated as above.
