Appointment of magistrates for East and Westchester

At a Meeting of the Commanders and Honorable Council of War, holden on the 30th of August, 1673.

Present—  Commander Jacob Benckes, 
Commander Cornelis Evertsen, Junior, 
Captain Anthony Colve. 

From the nomination of the inhabitants of the Town of Oostdurp (alias ) West Chester, and Hamlet East Chester, are this day elected as

Schepens or Magistrates of Oostdurp:  
Joseph Pamer,  Sworn the 2nd September, 1673. 
Edward Waters, 
And for the Hamlet East Chester:  
John Hoit. 

Whereof certificates in due form are transmitted to said towns.

This day Hans Lourens and John Russel are allowed to mow Captain Manning's valley in Mespat, and after so doing to report, when further agreement shall be entered into with him.

John Smith, Captain Laval's late servant, is instructed to take good care of said Laval's property at New Haerlem until further orders.
