Administrative History
Chapter 910 of the Laws of 1936 created the State Traffic Commission. The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, the Superintendent of State Police and the Commissioner of Highways were the designated officials of the Commission. The administrative head was the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. Chapter 717 of the Laws of 1967 abolished the Traffic Commission, and its duties and functions were transferred to the Department of Transportation.
