Scope and Content Note

The Records include routine correspondence (stating that vouchers, bills, receipts, etc. were received or forwarded), purchase orders, schedules of accounts, salary schedules, telephone bills, comptroller's warrants, hotel bills, travel expense claims, vouchers, employees withholding tax statements, travel requests, and cancelled checks.

There are Moreland Commission investigations files for the following: Workmen's Compensation Law (1939); Creedmoor Hospital (1943); Insurance Dept. (1933-34); cost of Workmen's Compensation (1944-46; 1953); Harness Racing (1953); Dept. of Corrections (1924-26); State Printing (1940); Judicial Action on Administrative Agencies; and the State Banking Dept. regarding the City Trust Company (1929).

Also included is a file on the Governor's Crime Conference (1936).

These records do not deal with any of the issues, topics, people, or events relating to the various commissions or the conference. Instead, they all deal with materials incidental to the operation of these bodies.
