Scope and Content Note
This series consists of meeting minutes, sheriffs' reports, facility files, statistical reports, and other records pertinent to the functions of the State Commission of Correction. Chiefly these records are the administrative files collected or created in the course of overseeing state prisons and assessing facilities and correctional needs to advise the governor.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
