Scope and Content Note
Files in this series contain signed and sealed copies of intergovernmental agreements entered into by counties and municipalities within the State of New York. Files pertain to agreements between subdivisions of New York State and to those between subdividions of New York and subdivisions of neighboring states. Files pertaining to agreements that have been amended also contain signed and sealed copies of the amended versions. Files also include correspondence between legal representatives of municipalities and the Department of State.
Interlocal agreements pertain to issues such as fire protection and emergency ambulance services; water supply and sewer services; civil defense; parks and recreation; public transportation; public health; and solid waste disposal.
