This series consists of general orders issued by the adjutant general and commanding officers to direct those under their command. General orders apply to all members of a command and usually concern policy or administrative matters. The general orders deal with numerous topics pertinent to New York State Militia, Naval Militia, and National Guard units during the War of 1812, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and various catastrophes and disturbances.
