Scope and Content Note

Records in this series pertain to cases for contract-related grievances that have reached the arbitration stage. Cases involve matters such as work conditions and hours; non-competitive appointments; workforce deployment; job requirements; and promotions or other hiring actions.

The records were created and used by the GOER's legal staff and, in some instances, by the attorney general's office to investigate the issues presented and defend the state in grievance proceedings. Files contain correspondence; statements of proceedings; evidence; notes of arbitrator; reports on the issues; accident and incident reports; and opinions and awards of arbitrator.

16231-95: This accretion includes files on a grievance between the Civil Service Employee Association (CSEA) and the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) decided in 1984; and files on the 1983 state employee lag payroll (all departments).
