The series consists of microfilm copies of minutes of meetings and case files of the Transit Commission from 1921 through 1943 (when it was abolished). Also included is "supplemental case file material" (those documents not filmed because of size or condition, including maps, drawings and/or exhibits; or materials filmed, but for which the film was found to be of poor quality).
Both the minutes and case files of the Transit Commission and the First District Case Files (Series 19594) are arranged by the same numerical scheme, and occasionally records from both bodies are contained on the same microfilm reel. As a result the records are difficult to access. The "supplemental material" contains both minutes and case file records.
