Scope and Content Note

The series consists of microfilm and microfiche copies of the formal case files of the Public Service Commission, and also so-called "supplemental case file material" (those materials not filmed because of size or condition, including maps, drawings and/or exhibits; or materials filmed, but for which the film was found to be of poor quality). Case files typically include petitions, briefs, orders, correspondence, exhibits and testimony.

19597-99A: This accretion consists of supplemental case file material (those materials not filmed because of size, format, or condition including maps, drawings and/or exhibits; or materials filmed but for which the film was found to be of poor quality). File organization is by case number. There are three separate numerical sequences of case files; therefore, supplemental materials relating to a given case may be found in more than one sequence (e.g., case # 279 material is located in box 1 and in box 58).

19597-00: This accretion consists of microfilm and microfiche copies of cases heard by the Public Service Commission from 1988 through 1993.

19597-00A: This accretion consists of supplemental case materials for approximately 75 cases numbered from 8116 to 28670. The bulk of the files range from 24000 to 28670. Supplemental files contain materials not microfilmed by the department because of size and/or condition and can include maps, drawings, or exhibit items. Some of these materials were microfilmed but the film did not meet quality control standards and therefore the originals were retained.

19597-01: This accretion consists of microfilmed copies of cases heard by the Public Service Commission from 1978 through 2000. The accretion includes case numbers 279, 376 through 29722, and 97-F-1563, which consists of ten rolls relating to the Athens Generating Company.

19597-01A: This accretion consists of microfilmed copies of cases heard by the commission from 1988-1998 numbered 88-G-0071 through 96-C-1198.

19597-01B: This accretion consists of microfilm copies of case 70363, an application of Iroquois Gas Transmission System to construct and operate a natural gas pipeline. Types of records include correspondence, orders and memoranda, exhibits, minutes of public statement hearings, and plans.

19597-01C: This accretion consists of a single supplemental case file for case number 70363 concerning the Iroquois Gas Transmittal Company for the years ca. 1987-1992.

19597-02: This accretion consists entirely of supplemental case file material (oversize maps and plans) for case 97-F-1563, an application of the Athens Generating Company.

19597-02A: This accretion consists of microfilm copies of cases heard by the Public Service Commission during 1997. Case numbers range from 97-C-0001 to 97-C-2161.

19597-14: This accretion consists of supplemental case file materials pertaining to five cases heard by the Public Service Commission during the 1920s and 1930s. A significant portion consists of copies of blueprint maps and plans created in conjunction with case numbers 6025, 6627, and 7027. These cases involved the proposed relocation of the Delaware and Hudson Railroad lines running from Ballston Spa to Saratoga Springs. The remainder of the accretion consists of exhibit material, including plans, statistical reports, and cost estimates, compiled in conjunction with case numbers 4007 and 5430. These cases involved the elimination of highway-railroad grade crossings in St. Lawrence County under the state Grade Crossing Elimination Act of 1926.
