Scope and Content Note

This series consists of bound copies of bills affecting cities (including New York City) which were sent to the mayors for approval or disapproval. The volumes for 1901 and 1902 include a copy of the original bill, certification by the clerk of the Senate that the text of the bill is correct, certification by the mayor that public notice was given of a public hearing on the bill, and that the hearing was duly scheduled, and certification that the proposed bill was accepted or rejected by the City Council. The volume for 1904 lacks the certification, and instead has on the bill itself a note (rubberstamped) whether the bill was approved or rejected by the city. There are three volumes for 1901 (Chaps. 4-237, 247-473, 474-734), two for 1902 (Chaps. 18-450, 451-617), and one for 1904 (Chaps. 28-760). Only chapters affecting cities are included.
