A list of some of these maps is published in David E. E. Mix, Catalogue of Maps and Surveys in the Offices of the Secretary of State, State Engineer and Surveyor, and Comptroller, and the New York State Library (Albany, 1859).
A complete list of maps in the series is published in Catalog of Maps and Field Books in the Land Bureau of the Department of the State Engineer and Surveyor New York State (Albany, 1920), pp. 3-35.
The New York State Library holds an annotated copy of the 1920 Catalog showing which maps were transferred to the Library and later to the Archives.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
