Scope and Content Note
The volume records expenditures paid from the general fund, generally for canal improvements and repairs. A main heading gives the purpose for the expenditure, and often a citation of the law authorizing the appropriation. Each handwritten entry typically provides the date, type of disbursement ("to cash"), and amount ("transmitted by voucher").
