Scope and Content Note

This series consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, publications, newspaper clippings, press releases and copies of legislative bills generated by the Office of Education Performance Review between 1973 and 1975. This office was created by Governor Nelson Rockefeller in 1973, and was empowered to investigate and review the cost effectiveness of public expenditures for the operation of the system of public elementary and secondary school programs. The records in this series reflect upon the daily operations as well as the major decisions rendered by the Office.
