Administrative History
The Hudson River Railroad Company's incorporation law (L. 1846, Ch. 216) authorized the board of directors to accept subscriptions to stock in the corporation, and required them to furnish the comptroller with a list of stockholders by March 10, 1847. This list was submitted on March 4, 1847. An appendix was submitted on the same date.
Scope and Content Note
This volume lists persons who subscribed to stock in the Hudson River Railroad Company. The list includes the city or town; name of subscriber; number of shares; and total value of shares. An appendix, giving additional names, number of shares, and total amount subscribed, is also included. Communities included are New York City, Albany, and nine places in between. At the end of the volumes are signatures of officers and directors of the company.
