Scope and Content Note
This bound volume records payments made to various state agencies and officials by the Comptroller's Office in keeping with its responsibility for payment of bills and maintenance of state financial records.
The volume records date of payment and amount paid to the following agencies and officials: infantry brigade inspectors; canal appraisers; constables; clerks; division inspectors; foreign poor in the New York City; New York Hospital; inspectors of state prisons; state library; orphan asylum; State Hall; sheriffs for attendance at Supreme Court; and newspapers for advertisement of state business.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
