These 7" reel-to-reel tape recordings produced for the commission include meetings of the Planning Committee for the Shrine for the Emancipation Proclamation; a panel discussion of the Emancipation Proclamation held at Rutgers University, December 8, 1962; Board of Regents proceedings concerning the Emancipation Proclamation, November 16-17, 1961; address by State Historian Albert W. Corey at a meeting of the New England States Civil War Centennial Commission, Montpelier, Vermont, July 8, 1962; address of Dr. David Mearns at a New York State Library Association meeting, Albany, New York, October 19, 1962; remarks of Mason Tolman, Roy C. Van Denbergh, and Thomas E. Mulligan at Utica, May 8, 1962; addresses by Allen Nevins and others at a conference of the Ulysses S. Grant Association in Columbus, Ohio; interviews with the Horseheads, New York town historian about her collection of Civil War sheet music, and with Harlan Hoyt Horner about the State Capitol fire of 1911; and a press conference of Governor Rockefeller, June 12, 1962.
