Scope and Content Note
Small leatherbound or paperbound books contain accounts for construction of the New York State Lunatic Asylum at Utica. Each book contains an account with a supplier of construction materials (lumber, nails, paint, etc.). Construction of the Asylum was authorized by legislation of 1839.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
