This series records routine checks made by Matteawan correctional officers throughout various wards.
The format differs from one volume to another, but all show that certain points were checked periodically. Volume one is primarily concerned with an accounting of patients. It records number of patients in the ward, time security check was made, and the name of the supervising correctional officer on duty. Volume two records security checks regarding the building which houses ward 8. Each entry records the date of the check, officer's name, and the results of the check. The third volume records the names of the officers on duty, areas searched, results of search, and the names and numbers of visitors to the ward.
