Scope and Content Note

These are bills passed by the General Assembly but not approved by the Council. These bills concern such issues as: administration of estates; taxation; trade regulations; payments to government officials and others providing service to the government; organization of the militia; relations with Indians; and regulations concerning slaves.

A bill dated Oct. 24, 1700, to void a New York City ordinance levying an impost duty on flour and biscuit, was part of the Freedom Train Exhibit (item no. 44), which traveled the state from January 1949 to February 1950.
