Scope and Content Note

This series consists of bound and unbound circulars and blank forms, and unbound reports, correspondence, and copies of legislation. The circulars and blank forms, most of which were sent by the Department of Public Instruction, relate to such subjects as uniform examinations for teaching certificates; Cornell University scholarship examinations; admissions to normal schools; apportionment of school funds; teachers' institutes; interpretation of school laws; and the National Education Association.

The subjects of the reports, correspondence, and legislation include, but are not limited to, teacher certification; appeals to the Superintendent of Public Instruction; apportionment of school funds; teachers institutes; and funding for school libraries.
