These volumes list students appointed to various private institutions (listed below) at state expense.
For each institution the following student information is given: name; age; town and county of residence; district (to 1854); appointment number; date admitted; length of term; date term expires; provider of student's clothing; and occasional remarks. Each volume lists students appointed by 1904. Updates indicate reappointments through 1909. Volume 2 has partial lists duplicated in volumes 3-6.
