Summary:
These reports reflect the Board of Charities inspection visits to poorhouses, orphanages, and insane asylums. Institution
inspection reports include the institution's name, inmate types, facility condition and maintenance. Reports on paupers receiving
state aid include names of institutions visited; number of paupers admitted with state funding, discharged or died; and financial
savings due to discharges. The alien paupers reports include pauper's name; age; time in U.S.; marital status; residence of
relatives; physical and mental condition; and prospects for self-sufficiency.
