This series consists of names of workers engaged in the construction of the new State Capitol building. Entries include dates of hire, lay off and reinstatement; name of person recommending worker for a position; and "remarks". Job titles include stonecutters, machinists, blacksmiths, carpenters, painters, masons and plasterers, laborers, and day/night watchmen. Also included are lists of appointees to administrative posts. Entries include appointment date, appointee's municipality of residence, and date of retirement from post.

Custodial History

A3176-98: This volume was originally processed as part of State Archives series A0442 (obsolete). The records were transferred to the Archives from the State Library in 1978 and from the Executive Dept. to the State Library at an earlier date. This accretion results from a project by Archives staff in 1998 to describe or integrate estrayed or unidentified records.
