Scope and Content Note

These are the records of Mark Graves, who held various positions under several governors during a long career in state service. Records include correspondence and messages to/from governors Alfred E. Smith (1922-1928), Franklin Roosevelt (1929-1932), and Herbert Lehman (1933-1942); correspondence pertaining to work/issues of several legislative committees (e.g., beer tax); 20 printed pamphlets; and copies of speeches (1922-1935) and articles (1924-1940) by Graves.
