Scope and Content Note
This series consists of correspondence used by the State Archeologist related to and documenting the activities of the New York Archaeological Council (N.Y.A.C.). Included in the series are meeting minutes, correspondence, official memoranda, NYAC paperwork related to salvage and construction projects, museum exhibition planning documents, and membership documentation. Additionally, it contains substantial information regarding the internal structure of the Council.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
