Scope and Content Note
This series contains the written drafts and publications of New York State Archaeologist Noah T. Clarke on Indian tribes in New York. In addition to Clarke's works, there are a number of related pamphlets, articles, bibliographies, and publications from other individuals and organizations within each folder. Some folders contain letters of Clarke's, in which he responds to questions about Indians. The subject matter of the material relates to tribes, songs, traditions, reservations, and education.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
