Scope and Content Note
Two letter press volumes contain outgoing correspondence of the Paymaster General's Office between April 25, 1865 and September 25, 1865.
It is difficult to determine exactly what topics are dealt with by this correspondence since the bulk of it is almost illegible because of fading ink. However, correspondence which can be read indicates that the volumes as a whole probably dealt with the payment of bounty money and other claims filed against the state by Civil War veterans.
