Scope and Content Note

Microfilmed records include those created by various departments of the Village of Red Hook.

Water Department records (1935-1993) include annual plant inspection reports DCHD (county) testing results and yearly plant inspections, monthly plant reports, water department studies and surveys, fire rating report testing results, system improvement investigation, water supply applications, disaster response, project files, well files (1-11), correspondence, and daily water logs.

Village Treasurer records (1935-1994) include annual reports, serial bonds and bond book, ledgers, journals and ledger pages, audits, reports of examination, budgets, and year-end payrolls.

Planning and zoning board records (1964-1994) include case files containing applications, plans, sketches, building permits and correspondence, Board of Health inspections, violations and actions, Planning Board actions and decisions, and maps. These records also contain minutes of both the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals summaries of applications, permits, and certificates of occupancy issued.

Village Clerk files (1906-1995) contain other non-fiscal permanent files documenting significant subjects, policies, programs, and events such as oaths of office, deeds, public hearings, and election records.

The Village Historic Papers Collection (1894-1994) consists of diverse records considered to be of intrinsic value by virtue of age, unique physical features, documentation of policies or events, or a combination of these. The records include correspondence, studies and enumeration books documenting the development of the Village of Red Hook.

Village maps (1897-1986) document village boundaries, land use, roads, water lines, hydrants, and subdivisions.

Village board minutes (1958-1993) document proceedings of the board of trustees.
